He has risen

This is just a quick lil post to say…

Is it gonna be called subtract or divide or is all of this social media stuff just to distract and then it’s not even gonna be maths related. Is he releasing a single or album on Friday… NOBODY KNOWS BUT IM SO DAMN EXCITED.

ohhhhhh boy oh boy oh boy, my friends must be dreading this because they knowwwww the new song or album or whatever he releases is going to be all I talk about for at least 6 months.

What a great start to 2017.

I hope you all had a lovely festive period and I hope 2017 is an amazing year for you all!!

P.S. I know I’ve been awful at posting, sorry! I don’t think I’ll ever really have a posting schedule as I’m always pretty busy, but I will try to post more often!

so as you may know, i went to Vfest on Saturday, Vfest is a big music festival run by Virgin, they have two locations and the acts switch for the second day. I went to Hylands Park in Chelmsford.

Since my Fred and his group were camping for the whole festival, i met up with them and spent the Saturday with them. I only knew Fred but luckily the rest of the group were really nice and friendly.

I got to the arena at about 10:30 and gates opened at 11:00, luckily the line for Saturday only people wasn’t very long, but i did end up getting absolutely  soaked. Once i was in the arena it took me two more hours to find Fred and his friends as they had to go in a massive line to get from the camp site to the arena, so while i was waiting i went for a walk around the area, the venue was amazing! there was a big carnival area with lots of rides and food stalls in the middle and then the different stages where off in different directions.

Once i found Fred and co we went to see Foxes, even though her set was about to begin we somehow got to around the third row from the barricade. She was amazing, and i knew more of the lyrics than i thought! Since she was playing at the MTV stage we staid in the same place to watch Zara Larson who was doing a set right after, she was also really good! The original plan had been to leave to watch Jess Glynne after Zara, but since we were, by this stage, in the second row we decided to stay as Troye Sivan was playing later on, and if we went to see Jess Glynne we would have ended up right at the back for Troye. In between Zara Larson and Troye  Sivan, Rick Astly did a set, despite only knowing one of his songs because its a meme (the dreaded ‘Rick roll’) I still enjoyed myself. Just before Troye Sivan these two kids in front of me and Fred gave us their space at the barrier as they were only waiting to see the person performing after, i was so happy and i am so thankful that they were so kind to let us in front; they must have heard me and Fred freaking out about Troye! Troye was obviously amazing, and being at the barrier was so much fun, I still can’t believe how close i was.

Next we went to see Sia, the crowd was enormous so we ended up pretty far back and since i am so short i could hardly see anything… Thank god for the massive screens! Since Sia keeps her face covered during shows, she had Maddie Zigler dancing on stage along with two other dancers, they all danced beautifully and it worked so well with Sia’s incredible voice. After Sia, Justin Bieber was playing, as he was the main headliner for the festival he had the longest set. Iv’e never really been much of a Bieber fan, about twenty minutes in, two of the girls in the group decided they were going to leave and go back to their tent as the crowd was so big and Justin wasn’t really sounding that great, i decided to go with them as i was so tired and i just wasn’t in the Bieber spirit. It took forever to get out of the crowd, but the girls were really nice and walked with me back to the pick up area.

Overall i had such an amazing time at Vfest and i really  hope to go to other festivals next year. There are rumors of Ed Sheeran headlining Glastonbury next year so… Obviously it was such a shame that Halsey had to cancel her set, but I’m sure she will be coming back to the UK at some point.

Also… i get my GCSE results the day after tomorrow and i am shitting myself.

30 day blogging challenge

Favourite bands/artists

It’s day 26 of the 39 day blogging challenge, this post is going to be about my favourite band and artists.

As mentioned in many posts, my all time favourite artist is Ed Sheeran; this has been a long standing obsession for over 3 years now. His songs are all so amazing and he has a beautiful voice. I have been to 3 Ed Sheeran concert so far, and I plan to go to many more.

Troye Sivan is also incredible and I have also been a big fan of his for around 3 years. I found him on YouTube when he did a cover of an Ed Sheeran song. It’s been amazing to see how far he’s come in only a few years, and I almost burst from joy and pride when I went to see him live a few months ago.

Halsey is a recent obsession, I only started listening to her in January this year because so many people had been telling me to listen to her. Obviously I fell in love instantly and I’ve had badlands on repeat since. I was also incredibly lucky to see her in concert in Febuary, she was fantastic.

Twenty Øne Pilots are also up there for me, i think their songs and style is so original and I really like them. I am dying to see them live but sadly I don’t have any friends that live near me that share my love for TøP.

Melanie Martinez is amazing, her style is also really original and she has an amazing voice. Crybaby is such a good album and I’ve been in love with her since Dollhouse came out really. I have been to see her in concert and she was incredible, and I’m so excited to be seeing her live again in November!

Pierce the veil was at one point almost an unhealthy obsession, I listened to them a lot when I was dealing with depression and self harm, I found their music to be really helpful and it gave me a feeling of being less alone in my situation. I still listen to them now, and I really like their new album ‘Missadventures’… it was worth the four year wait.

Alessia Cara has become a fave very very recently, I only downloaded her album ‘Know-it-all’ two weeks ago, to listen to on the drive to Spain. She has an amazing voice and her song are really good! There are a few songs on the album that I’m not so keen on, but the majority are soooooooo good!

Chvrches is another band I have recently started listening to, their latest album ‘every open eye’ is amazing, and so is their previous ‘the bones of what you believe’. I’m really glad I listened to them.

Lastly… The 1975… I have a bit of a love hate relationship with The 1975, I like most of their music, but I feel like they are quite pretentious and refuse to accept that they are in fact a pop band. There is nothing wrong with pop music, and I feel like they sometimes belittle pop music. (This is just my opinion, please don’t get mad at me)

There are obviously other artists that I listen to such as Bry, Fall out Boy, Sleeping with Sirens etc… But I didn’t want to make this super long. This list is mainly what I have been listening to recently.

30 day blogging challenge

My first concert

It’s day 22 of the 20 day blogging challenge, so this post is going to be about the first concert I ever attended.

My first concert was an Ed Sheeran concert in October 2012, it was held at a small venue in Brighton and my mum took me.

Because the venue was so small even being in seats we were really close to the stage. The opening act was Passanger, and I had no idea who he was, but later his song ‘Let Her Go’ became really well known, and I recognised it from the opening set. He was really good and still is!

Ed Sheeran was obviously incredible, I think he was touring for the album +/plus but he also did a few songs from his other EP ‘Songs I wrote with Amy’.

Four years later I still remain a die hard fan and have seen Ed Sheeran live on 2 other occasions: the Multiply tour and a non tour Wembley show. And I plan to get tickets if he tours for his third album, which I cannot explain how excited I am for.

Melanie Martinez and a lil update

Hey guys!

Its been a while!

As I mentioned in my last post, i went to see Melanie Martinez in concert a few weeks ago, me and butt face/hole (i don’t remember what her name is anymore) being the obsessive fans we are, woke up at 5.15 in the morning to get the 6.30 train into London, to be at the venue for around 8am. Please take into consideration that doors didn’t open until 7 pm. We were second in line behind a group of girls who had arrived at 6 in the morning to start lining up. Sadly since i live a bit further away from London its pretty impossible for me to have gotten there any earlier. Me and butt face/hole took the first train that we could. We spent all 9 hours in the line, laughing and eating really, we were pretty well prepared, we took blankets with us to put on the floor and to keep us warm because its England.

So the venue (o2 forum Kentish town) was a bit of a mess, not gonna lie, they were super disorganized and kept telling us that there was no o2 priority line (all you need is an O2 sim card and you and two extras get let in before general admissions, and since my friend is on o2 we were planning to make the best of it). So we chilled at the front of the general line all day. Then… half an hour before doors, an o2 priority line magically appeared, by this time me and butt face/hole were buddies with the group in front of us, and they asked one of the venue staff why people were being put into a priority line now, when there was hundreds of priority people who had been told there wasn’t a priority line and were sent to line up in general. The guy told us that the priority line was for people who were arriving at the time (half a fucking hour before doors), we were all super frustrated because why on earth should people arriving half an hour before doors be allowed in before people who had been waiting since 6 in the morning! The staff at the venue were very rude and unhelpful and refused to help us and explain what was happening because we were being ‘mouthy’, personally i wasn’t really saying anything, i was just trying not to cry out of pure frustration; and i didn’t think the  girls were being rude at all; we just wanted to understand the situation and why it was happening.

Anyway… all that kerfuffle aside, we were finally let in, luckily at the same time as priority, not after, and me and butt hole/face were in the second row behind the barrier. Sadly the girls behind us were determined to get to the front and started kicking me and my friend in the back of the leg, i also clearly heard one of them say ‘if we annoy them enough they will get out of our way’, when water was being passed along just before Melanie came out, one of the girls tipped one of the cups of water down my back, and later on did the same down the back of my leg. Luckily me and butt face/hole managed to move/be shoved away from them.

When Melanie came out everyone went mental including myself and butt face/hole. during the first few songs everyone was pushing and shoving so me and butt face/hole ended up a few rows further back, but it was a bit more chilled and enjoyable from further back so it wasn’t really a bad thing. Melanie was incredible and her staging was really cool and me and butt face/hole had an amazing time.

When we were leaving i overheard a lady who had been in the balcony sitting say that she had seen three people be pulled out of the audience because they were being crushed. It was definitely the most intense concert I’ve been to, which i didn’t really expect. But i still have a great time regardless, i just hope the people who got pulled out are okay.

I’m also super excited because i got tickets to Saturday V-fest, which means I’ll be seeing Troye Sivan and Halsey again, and Sia is also performing which im super excited about! Me and Butt face/hole also got tickets to see Melanie Martinez again in November, and its at a completely different venue, which i am happy about! hopefully we will be able to enjoy the whole concert this time!

In other news, I’ve only got 7 exams left! I cannot wait to be finished with my GCSE’s and enjoy a really fun and long summer.

Basically the moral of this post it: don’t got to o2 forum Kentish town for concerts: the staff are rude and its badly organised. Its the same venue i went to see Troye Sivan at, and that was also poorly organised and the staff were really rude to my friend.

Hopefully I’ll be doing much more blogging over summer, when i have absolutely nothing to revise for 🙂

Ps. I will leave the link to some videos I took from Melanie Martinez here:

Still on a break

Hi guys!

Long time no… Blog?

I am still on a break and I will be until the end of July when my GCSE’s finally end. My first exam is on the 3rd of May which is scarily soon. It’s currently Sunday at 11pm, also known as the last day of my Easter holiday, and boy am I dreading going back to school tomorrow. I have been revising during this break, but I’ve also been enjoying myself with my friends and I’ve been able to relax quite a bit despite the looming exams.

I went to see a singer called Bry the other day with my friend, for those of you that don’t know, he is an Irish singer who also does YouTube videos with his wife, they both seem like lovely and very genuine people, and Bry sings incredibly well, so I highly recommend you guys check him out. The concert was so much fun, it was held at the o2 academy Islington in London, it was a pretty small venue and me and my friend were basically front and centre which made it even better. As I have said before about the Halsey concert, the atmosphere at concerts or gigs is absolutely amazing and left me yet again with ‘post concert depression’.

I also celebrated my 16th birthday a few days ago, I spent it in the best way possible; with butt-crack aka my closest friend, Chinese food, scary movies and a massive bar or Oreo chocolate. My parent were kind and generous enough to give me an iPad for my birthday, which is what I am currently writing this post on, hopefully this will make blogging easier in the future as this is far more convenient than my tiny phone screen.

I may also do another post in about two weeks about the Troye Sivan concert as I am beyond excited about that, I have loved Troye for the last 3/4 years; or whenever it was he released a cover of Ed Sheeran’s song on his YouTube channel; his new album is absolutely incredible and I can’t recommend it enough.

I hope you guys are all doing well, I miss you all very much and I am looking foreword to summer when there will be a lot more posts coming your way 😊
