Sixth form!

Hey!

So i went back to school on Tuesday for my first day of sixth form, it wasn’t too bad since all we did was enroll and confirm our subjects. I waited in the sixth form common room with Butt Crack for an hour and a half, just for our head of sixth form to tell me there was no need for me to wait as she was fine with me doing four subjects at A-level. My school has changed the way A-levels run now, instead of taking 4 subjects for AS and 3 for A2 we are no longer allowed to drop a subject and we sit all our exams at the end of the two years. Because of this, they aren’t too keen on letting people take 4 A-levels as you can’t drop one at the end of the first year. Since i wanted to do 4 (biology, chemistry, geography and Spanish) i had to get it approved, luckily for me i already speak fluent Spanish so I’m technically only doing three and a half A-levels- if that.

On our enrollment day we were given an induction task for each of the subjects that we have chosen to do, we then had Wednesday and Friday off to complete them. On the Thursday we went to an outdoor activity center to do team building activities. In the morning of the Thursday we also found out our form groups for the next two years; I’m pretty happy with my form, although i was really hoping to be with Butt Crack; but i do have Jess who i have been pretty good friends with for a while now, we went to see Ed Sheeran together and are planning on going to the next tour, as well as possibly a music festival next summer. There are also a few other girls and boys that i get along with, luckily there isn’t anyone i have a dislike towards, so it should be a pretty good two years!

To be quite honest the majority of the day was quite boring as my school did the same activity day in year 7 and year 9, so we all knew how to figure out the majority of the puzzles they had set up. The only thing i did actually find really fun was a pole activity, which i have never done before; basically there was a telephone pole height wooden pole with a (very) small wooden platform on top; in groups of four we had to climb the pole and get onto the platform and then hold hands and lean back at the top to balance ourselves as the pole moved a lot. Since I’m the smallest, it was decided i would go last as i would need the least amount of space to get on and stand. Jess went first even though she was really scared, but I’m very proud of her. A girl called Pip went up next, she got super close to the top before she asked to come down as she got really scared, Liv went next and she got to the top really quickly, but since we were only a group of 3 now, one of the boys volunteered to go up before me to be our third person, i have to mention that he has a very ‘rugby player’ type physique so he is very broad and tall. I was the last up, the pole was swaying so much i swear i thought it was going to break, but i made it to the top and with a lot of help from Joe (Rugby player dude) i managed to get onto the platform. We were all grabbing each other for dear life because there was absolutely no room on the platform, we then had to get into a corner each to do the ‘hold hands & lean back’ thing. We sort of managed, before Jess slipped and took Liv with her, because of the sudden movement me and Joe went flying off the other end, because we were all harnessed up and stuff we were all just swinging in the air, this lead to Joe swinging into me as i was being lowered and me accidentally groping his butt to avid getting tangled. Despite being super nervous to begin with, as I’m not really a big fan of heights, it was actually a lot of fun.

We then finished off the day with a classic egg drop competition, which we didn’t do too well in  (R.I.P Eggward), and then the reveal of the winning forms as we had been earning points all day in each of the different activities; my form came 3rd so we were all pretty pleased.

In other news, the song Alarm by Anne-Marie is so good!!!!!!! I’ve never even been cheated on but boy is it a tune. Go listen to it!!!!

30 day blogging challenge

Best/favourite subjects

Hey guys!

It’s day 20 of the 30 day blogging challenge so here is a post about my favourite subjects in school.

I really enjoy Geography, it is one of the subjects I chose to take at GCSE and I’m hoping to carry on with Grography as an A-level. Luckily I also find the subject relatively easy and come out of tests with okay grades. I find it interesting and I think it’s a good subject to take for A-level as it can be used in a variety of different ways and doesn’t slim my choices on what I may want to do in later life.

I also like Spanish, again I find it quite an easy subject and I enjoy learning it. I will also be taking Spanish at A-level, although people do tend to say that languages at A-level are far harder than at GCSE, I’m pretty sure I’ll cope. (If I come across as overconfident, my mum has taught me Spanish all my life, so I’m at a slight advantage)

I used to really enjoy English as well, but since year 10 I have had a really mean and rude teacher which has made it far less enjoyable and has lead my English grades to drop. It’s quite frustrating, but at this point I’m not really at a level where I could take A-level English even if I wanted to. She was a pretty awful teacher and I learnt absolutely nothing in 2 years.

Biology is another subject that I enjoy, i find it super interesting and although I don’t find it really easy I still plan on taking it as an A-level.

Letter to an Ex

img_7778

Hello!

Day 6 of the 30 day blogging challenge is a letter to an Ex.

Since my last ‘boyfriend’ was in year 8 (12/13 years old) and lasted all of 1 week, i don’t really have much to say. I will tell you guys though that i technically never said yes, in very 12 year old fashion, my friend (Nia – Fake name as usual) asked me out on his behalf (he will now be referred to as Bob), however because the bell had already gone to get to last lesson, and 12 year old me was terrified of being late, i just scurried off to art without answering. I only found out we were ‘dating’ when another one of my friends texted me ‘OMG YOUR GOING OUT WITH BOB??’, and i decided i may as well just go along with it, since i did have a crush on Bob at the time.

As you may have gathered by the name of this blog, i am a shy person. Not really with people i know really well and am comfortable around such as Butt Crack, but with most other people I’m a mess. And add this to the hereditary 12 year old awkwardness and the whole ‘I’ve never had a boyfriend before’ panic, in addition to the entire year constantly asking if i was dating Bob every two freaking minutes; I definitely became 100 times shyer in that week. This lead to me speaking to Bob all of about 4 times.

Again in true 12 year old style, i was dumped by Bob through one of his friends, because of me being too shy.

So here’s the letter i guess lmao:

Hey Bob,

Remember that time we went out in year 8, yeah… Sorry i didn’t talk to you. I promise i did like you at the time, i just had a really hard time talking to you because it brought a lot of extra attention to me, because for some reason in year 8 dating is a very big deal. 12 year old me couldn’t deal with the extra attention; now that we’re older and you know about the social anxiety malarkey it probably makes much more sense to you, why i hardly spoke to you. Because before we started ‘dating’ we were really good friends and we spoke all the time, and it didn’t make me scared because no one thought anything about it, but once we were ‘official’ other kids in our year took a big  interest in it. I’m glad you know why i was so quiet, because i never wanted you to think that i didn’t like you.

I’m really glad we are still friends, and i am really happy you aren’t moving to a different sixth form. If I’m being completely honest, there is a small part of me that still has feelings for you, but that may just be because you were the first male to ever show any interest in me, or because you are just a really nice and genuine guy…  who knows.

But anyway, thank you for liking me enough to ask Nia to ask me out, it gave my confidence a bit of a boost, which it probably needed; just not enough to get over the anxiety.

See you in September!

There you have it guys, a letter to the only Ex i have.

Thank you for reading!

Prom pt.2

Hello!

My prom has now been and gone, it was on Thursday the 23rd of June and i had a wonderful time.

I cannot explain to you guys just how amazing everyone looked. All of the girls looked stunning in their dresses and the boys looked lovely in their suits.

Hatty came to my house during the day and we decorated my mums car with purple fringe tinsel and some paper garlands, it looked fabulous if i may say so myself, although possibly a bit hazardous for the driver! Then i went to my neighbors house, her and her daughter have a small salon in their house so they did my make up and hair for me. I’m absolutely useless, so i’m lucky i had them to do it for me. Then a little while before prom, Hatty and Butt crack arrived to take some pictures together, and then leave for prom.

Everyone had really extravagant ways of arriving to the venue, and my school had arranged a photographer to take a picture of all the groups as they arrived. The venue was at a race course nearby where we live, and used one of the suites for the prom. We were also very lucky and there was a really cool photo booth type set up with lots of props to use, so me and my friends made good use of it!

I definitely surprised myself and actually got up to dance with my friends, Hatty is very persuasive when she wants to be! And although feeling pretty self conscious, i did enjoy it and it was incredibly funny.

On a slightly different topic, i really don’t understand how people go to prom after parties, like i was absolutely exhausted by the end, my feet were hurting and my dress was quite itchy. Also how do people get their parents to agree? I personally don’t have much of an interest in drinking and getting piss drunk, but as well, my mother would kill me, especially if i rung her up at gone 4am to come and pick me up. I guess its just not really my scene.

The end of the evening was pretty sad, because i am probably never going to be seeing most of those people ever again, as a lot of people are moving to different sixth forms. I’m definitely going to miss Hatty and Amy an awful lot, as well as Fred, who is moving up North over the summer. Its sad that all of these wonderful people who have been part of my life for over 5 years, aren’t going to be a part of my daily life. I’m obviously ecstatic that Butt Crack is staying with me, as well as a few other girls i have known for years, some even since Reception; but it is going to be a big change.

Also just to let you guys know, i have added a ‘Who’s who’ page to my blog, to try to avoid too much confusion, i also kept forgetting everyone’s fake names. Also for anyone who has also had their prom or has it coming up, i hope you had/have a wonderful evening and have a lot of memories to cherish.

Gotta keep anonymous ya know 😀

In other news, iv’e been considering maybe doing another 30 day blogging challenge over the summer, as i’m going to have a lot of time; i’m just wondering if you guys would want that and since i will probably make it up myself this time, what topics would you want me to do? I did one that i found last year over September/October i think, and i really enjoyed it, although some of the posts were a bit odd… ‘What is in your fridge’.

It’s finally over

Hey kidz!

Guess who is an extremely happy child… THATS RIGHT LADS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

So today was my last GCSE exam, and i couldn’t be more pleased about it. I don’t think its really hit me that i’m done, because i keep getting surges of ‘oh my god i should be revising’ and then i remember that there is nothing to revise for, which is a really weird feeling; it’s a feeling i haven’t experience since like last Autumn (because of mocks etc…).

Overall i think my exams went okay, geography went by without any major issues, same with English, RE and most of the science exams. Maths didn’t go very well, and this last physics exam was hell on earth, i could literally feel my mind collapsing. But i have never been so sure i failed anything, more than BOTH of my history papers, i managed to screw them both up mightily.  On out first paper one of the questions was about Hitler taking over Austria, i wrote half my answer about Hitler taking over Czechoslovakia, before realizing. And in the second paper i answered one of the questions about the effects of World War Two, with facts about World War One, and i didn’t even bother to cross it out, i just started a new paragraph and changed topic when i realized; i guess i’m not going to get marks taken away, but i still feel like a bit of an idiot. I don’t know why, but me and history haven’t gotten on well since year 10, i have had every grade between a D to an A, so i have no idea what to expect anymore. All i know is, i’m glad i never have to do it again.

Me and my friend are also going to be burning our exam timetables and old school books this weekend and hopefully roasting some marshmallows over the flames, which i am definitely looking forward to; as well as going to see the new Conjuring movie, which i am very excited about!

When i think about it though, it does make me quite sad, because i am losing a lot of good friends this year, i am never going to be with my little group at our self assigned bench at breaks and lunches again; because everything is changing, and a lot of my good friends are going to different sixth forms, and although we all still live close to one another, we will all inevitably drift apart and eventually lose contact. I am quite lucky though as Butt Crack is staying with me, i don’t know what i would do if she moved! I guess we still have prom and results day, and i have a feeling i’m going to be seeing a lot of them over the summer, so it’s not really the end.

I am so great full for the last 5 years at my secondary school, i met so many amazing people and have so many great memories, even though i’m staying at my school for sixth form, so i still have another two years, but it still feels like the end of an era. No more ugly ass uniform! No more 5 lessons a day! No more canteen ques! (sixth former’s get to skip the line at my school).

My prom is less than a week away now, i don’t really think prom is that much of a big deal, but i do finally have a dress! Which was a matter that was desperately stressing me out. my neighbor has also been kind enough to offer to do my hair and makeup for me, which is incredibly useful because i am inept at that sort of thing. As overrated as i feel it is, i’m sure i’m still going to have a great time, and it’s like the last hurrah for my little posse, which will probably be quite bittersweet. My school seem to have done a pretty good job in organisation and stuff, so hopefully it will all go smoothly!

So now that i have plenty of free time, i will be back to blogging!! I’m super excited and have quite a few posts in mind already :). I am definitely going to try my best to be more dedicated to this whole thanngggg, as well as the Instagram that i have for this blog as i am doing quite a bit this summer, i will try to keep that updated to (@thesmallquietone for those wondering :’) ).

Thank you guys so much for being patient with me during exams, i know my posts were quite spread out and mainly concert related, but i promise i’ll be switching it up! Also, for peeps who wanted to see my prom dress, there will be a post all ’bout that soon!

Thank you for reading!
