Results day

Hi!

Today I got my GCSE results.

I have been dreading this day for weeks, I didn’t want to know my grades because I’ve been absolutely terrified of doing badly. My grades are really important to me and I spent so much time revising, but in the actual exams I always felt like I was unprepared.

Today has actually turned out better than I had expected, my results are:

  • Creative media – level 2 distinction
  • English literature -a*
  • English language – b
  • Maths – a
  • Religion 1 – b
  • Religion 2 – a
  • Core science – a
  • Additional science – a
  • Geography – a
  • History – b
  • Spanish – a*

I am pretty pleased with this, I really wasn’t expecting the A in maths since I’ve been getting B’s solidly this year so that was such a nice surprise; I also thought I would end up with a C for history after I butchered two of my questions and basically completely messed up the exam.

Me and my parents are going out to wagamamas tonight which I am most excited about! It’s definetly a favourite of mine 😄

I hope everyone receiving their results today is happy and can enjoy the last few weeks of summer before beggining a levels!

Thank you for reading!

P.s. I am not trying to boast about my exam results, I just want to make this blog honest and open, sharing my results is part of that.

Mock results 😭

Hello!

I got my results for the mocks I did before Christmas on Friday, so this post is a bit overdue 😄 but I was so nervous, I don’t think I did as well as I could have to be quite honest.

I managed to get all of my grades at a B or above, however that is my current grade, what I actually got in the exam may be slightly higher or lower, as for a lot of my classes they also have to factor in coursework. I was really hoping for an A in maths as I’ve been stuck at a B grade for a long time, sadly I got a B again, but I know that it’s not a bad grade, and with maths being one of my worst subjects, I hadn’t done too bad. I was pretty happy with a B in history though, especially since in the mocks we did in year 10 I got a D, the fact that my coursework got an A probably helped a lot to, and I think my teacher was feeling a bit generous 😄 what I am most proud of is the A* I got in science, because at the 6th form open evening not long ago, my science teacher told me and my mum that she didn’t think I would be able to get a good enough science grade to get into a vet course at university; so I revised my butt of, and it definitely payed off!

I am really going to try to get all A’s and A*’s in my actual GCSEs, so I’m going to have to work really hard and do a lot of revision, but hopefully it will be worth it! 😊

I hope no one thinks I am trying to brag of boast in this post! I thought you guys might be interested, and I know a lot of people are going through similar things with mocks and GCSEs etc…

Thank you for reading!

5 current goals

30 day blogging challenge, day 8-  5 current goals

  • my absolute top goal it to do well in my GCSE exams in the summer, i really hope i can make myself work hard and do all the revision i need to get the results i want.
  • another goal of mine is to get my pony out to more shows by improving both my riding, and ensuring that she is properly prepared and trained to do more dressage and jumping.
  • a goal that seems pretty minor but i think would make a huge difference is getting my sleep pattern in check and not allowing myself to stay up until 2 or 3 AM when i have school the next day.
  • i would like to get healthier, however i’m not sure if that’s going to happen!
  • lastly, i want to have a better relationship with my parents; we don’t necessarily have a bad one, its just that there’s quite a bit of arguing and i want to change that.
